Dmitry Patrushev is a Russian politician who currently serves as the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Russian Federation. He was appointed to this position on January 21, 2020. Prior to this, he held various positions in the Russian government, including his role as the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and as the head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance.
Patrushev was born on December 10, 1979, in the city of Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). He graduated from the St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance in 2001, majoring in finance and credit. He then went on to obtain a master's degree in international economics and finance from the same university in 2003.
Aside from his government work, Patrushev is a member of the General Council of the United Russia political party and the head of the party's committee on agriculture and rural development. He is also involved in various agricultural and environmental organizations in Russia.
